Planning of a long term camp:

 

Week 1                      Introduction week

Introduction to the teachers and children – and the classes that the volunteers will teach.

                                                          Day 4:                 Visit the Market in Mae Suai

Week 2 - 6                 Work in the school of  the village

 

The volunteers will work at the village school. They teach English, sport, art, music or related topics. They will be two and two together for teaching in different classes.

During all 4 weeks  they will teach in the same two classes or levels in order to make the children progress. In this way we try to secure that the children also get the possibility to learn something from the volunteers through a continuous learning process.

The volunteers are responsible for planning the lessons!

 

-          In the morning: teaching from 9 to 12 – two different classes/levels. (1 ˝ hour with each class)

-          In the afternoon: Should take responsibility for different projects:

 

 

 

Week 7                      Individual Holiday

 

 

Week 8 – 12              Work and live together with an Akha- family

 

The volunteers will experience two home stays, where they will live with two different Akha Families. During this time they will live and work together with the families – and take part in their daily life.

They will still teach in the school, but only 2 days a week

(We recommend Monday and Thursday)

 

Accommodation:                                   During the stay the volunteers will have a bamboo hut available to share two and two together. If It is possible, they might keep the hut during their home stays.

 

The accommodation will be like this:

Week 1-6:    Guesthouse

Week 7:        Holiday

Week 8-10:  Home stay 1

Week 10-12: Home stay 2

 

Participant Fee: 

The participant fee will be

1 month                             12 000 Baht

2 months                           21 000 Baht

3 months                           30 000 Baht  (800 USD)

it will cover:

 

The participant fees will be transferred to the Akhajulyah Guesthouse account before the arrival of the volunteer. Akhajulyah guesthouse is responsible for paying host families and other payments related to the volunteer programme.
